I am a 64 year old male and 12 months ago I was diagnosed with refractory cytopenia with multilineage dysplasia (neutropenia and thrombocytopenia). My blast count was only 4%. I have looked at some of the scoring systems for MDS but they only confuse me. How can I find out what my medium to long term prognosis and my life expectancy might be? I am currently seeing a haemotologist with blood tests every 2-3 months. I have had 4 bone marrow biopsies and my last one was in May 2014.
