Does anyone have any experience with switching to the lower dosage of Revlimid? I don’t know if there are any studies to indicate the effectiveness of 5 mg. I had a delay in dosage and then returned at the lower amount. It does not seem to be doing anything, but I am not even sure if the 10 mg. was doing much. I am back on transfusions, as my HGB dropped to 5.9. I am a 5q- patient who may end up being a non-responder. I started taking Revlimid in January ’09. Thanks.

My husband gained a 5 month remission on the 5mg dose. The 10 nmg lowered the neuts too far. Apparently that can be asigh that it is working. His worked after 3 cycles and the HB slowly rose so that the Tx interval extended gradually until it was not needed. Unfortunately it stopped working after 5 months.

Now that he has been Revlimid free for 8 mths we think it has left a slight residual improvement in Tx interval.

Good luck with the decision making.

I have not switched to a lower dose but would only caution that Revlimid can take some time to work (10 mgs, 4 months for me). Of course do what you and your doctor agree is best for you.

Thanks friends for the response. I am going back on 10 mg. and will try that for at least 3 months. After that we’ll have to evaluate what to do next.
