When my Hgb gets low, I get lightheaded and experience shortness of breath making walking around my house difficult.
How have others dealt with this side effect?
Thank you in advance for the ideas.

Dear Karen, Your red blood cells carry oxygen throughout your body and when you are anemic you can experience fatigue, shortness of breath, and lightheadedness. These symptoms may be worsened with activity, such as walking up stairs. Patients may wish to take more frequent naps during the day or sleep longer during the night to recuperate their energy. I would also recommend getting a second opinion from one of our MDS Centers of Excellence as I want to make sure you are not being undertreated. Following is a link to our Centers of Excellence worldwide https://www.mds-foundation.org/mds-centeres-of-excellence/. I hope this information helps.
