    Hi all

I don’t know if my signature if visible with the new forums, but brief history is i am a care taker for my mother, who diagnosed with MDS-RAMD six years ago at age 51 (2 BNB performed because of low whites). These 6 years, all the results from blood tests were good, nothing was below minimal levels at ANY point.

1.5 week ago though, she started having something like a swollen throat and pain chest, also BIG fatigue after walking. 3-4 days later she started having muscle cramps (at the bottom of the back) and bone pain on the whole body.

The strange thing is she had a blood test (also checked liver, cholesterol, etc) 3 weeks ago and everything was normal again.

So i may just thinking the worst case scenario, but these symptoms are something to worry about? Also could we go from healthy/good readings to bad/AML in such small period of time?

We will not get new blood readings until next week, and i am losing my mind thinking about this, so any advice would be more the welcomed?

PS English is not my language so sorry for any errors.

For many MDS patients the illness will never transform to AML. My doctor here in Denmark keep telling me, that I am still fit enough for a transplant. He monitors me through blood tests every 2-3 months. This he feels is sufficient to catch any change early enough to find a suitable unrelated doner.

Could the muscle cramps possibly be related to an infection?

    Regards, Niels

i really thank you for your reply, it was really encouraging and helped me the last couple of days.

i am hoping for just a virus, although since yesterday she developed skin rashes… we are in despair.

tomorrow will get the blood results. i hope for the best.
