    Hello friends,

Has anyone here had to have transfusions as close together as 2 to 3 days? My dad has been having to have transfusions every 2 weeks until his latest hospitalization, now he has started to need them every 3-4 days. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks for your input.

    Hi Susan,

When my father was in the hospital they were transfusing him every couple of days. Platelets seem to be the real problem but my understanding is that platelets don’t last long.

Is your dad still in the hospital? Is it an infection?

My mom was getting transfusions of plts, wbc, and rbc about every other day. From what I’ve read, transfusions that frequently is pretty extreme. It seemed like every couple weeks is more common.
