sorry for the delay in responding yes it was done in the hospital. I believe they used the ct scan to get the best results. Previous biopsy done in the office where all done poorly with not enough samples gathered.

My wife’s platelets where below 14, they gave her platelets minutes before doing the bmb, no side effects that effected the outcome

When my wife started Vidaza we didn’t start the anti-nausea meds quick enough, take the meds before first treatment. Watch for oral infections and pneumonia. Don’t assume something different is nothing to be concerned about, ask questions and if still in doubt ask more questions. Dr’s are only human and asking questions keep them aware of your concerns. I wish you and your husband good luck with treatment. Neil

My wife’s journey was very similar to your grandmothers. Diagnosed with MDS in February, we did revlimid for three cycles until she got infections in her mouth and lesions on her body. She fought back from that infection and started Vidazza, Drs said revlimid wasn’t working. One cycle of Vidazza and she caught pneumonia, with very low white blood cells, she received platelets and red packed cells, she received infusions almost every other day for the last month. Although she fought as hard as she could, I lost her two weeks ago. I pray for better results for your grandmother and hope she continues the fight. Neil
