BMT is not so bad from what I am told. At MD Anderson you are kept in isolation but you have a family member in with you. TV, Phone Computer any thing that can be cleaned before you touch it. Lots of light in the rooms and I have had wonderfull nurses during my 3 surgery stays…Just remember that these nurses deal with very upset people all the time and a smile and thank you will go a loooooong way to makeing your stay better….Keep them happy and smile and they will be allot nicer…Your bitchy and then guess what…They get bitchy too…I know you may not feel good but be nice to your nurses..They are human too….Just smile and tell them that you are thankful that they are there to take care of you….Chocolate goes along way….It always brings a smile to my nurses.

    Good Luck on your treatments…

    Hang in there!!!

No I don’t know which class I have..my counts keep going down…Platelets are down this morning to 43…from 53 last week….I think it is back….I should be heading back to Houston in a week or so if they keep droping. I know this feeling so I know it is back… I guess it is time for the BMT….

Keep up the prayers for me and all of us…
    God can to wonders.

Sorry about the blast confusion the blast % is 1.
as far as what type I beleive it is the type that has the -5q or -q5. They tell me it is the better one to have. It has the best chance of being fixed.

Yes I am too young for the Colon cancer and now MDS…The doctors all want me because they want to find out why. Which is good due to I am getting the best of the best doctors.

Yes I have been on it for 1-1/2 years. It was not bad at all after the first month. My counts went to the basement and then came back up to numbers I havn’t seen in 4 years. Then after each treatment his counts will drop and then about the 3rd week they will come back up. Or that is what I did. Side effects for me were mild bone aches which darvon….It is a mild pain reliever but it will not mask a Fever…Which is very important. Watch out for sick people and kids….I have not been sick for a year and a half….

If you or he would like to talk to me I would not have a problem in a phone call…We all help each other….Doctors are PRACTICEING….I love them, but ask lots of questions and kept asking..

    Good Luck…

    Jack
