Carole passed on July 23 @ 7 pm She was in the hosp 2 days after cemo. Dr’s seemed to be more interested in a little fluid she had around her heart than her blood problem. little by little she faded away. I just had to get on here and post. Make sure you know what they are giving you each time.

Hello Alma – just wondering how you are doing?
I have been in the hospital since Sunday 7/14/19 – platelet count went down to 1 – have been getting transfusions – hopefully counts will come up. Feel like crap – never been so sick in my life. Hope you are doing alright.

    Hello Alma

All went well with the chemo – no side effects yet for Monday & Tuesday, hope there won’t be any at all – I can hope anyway. Glad it went well for you except for the diarrhea.

    Hello Donna

I am 75 years old and will be starting Dacogen today – I am a little anxious – I have never taken many pills and don’t like all this medication the Dr. is giving me. I have only taken a vitamin and a blood pressure pill only for many years and now all of this.

I live on Long Island also – I am starting on Dacogen on Monday also. I am also very apprehensive as to what this will be like. Where do you go for treatment? I go to NSHOA in Patchogue but will be getting the infusions in Riverhead because it is closer. Good luck to you on Monday.

Michael – where is the center of excellence in New York. I live on Long Island and I have MDS, doctor has been watching counts for 4 years and now wants to start chemo on Monday, I am a little overwhelmed by all of this.

    Hello Peter:

Thank you for your kind words of encouragement. My husband and I are having a hard time accepting this treatment. I am not sure if I should have the chemo or get another opinion on this treatment. I live in New York. I don’t know what will happen if I don’t have the treatment. Will try to be as strong as you and hope the best for you also.
    My regards,
    Carole
