I am so sorry about Scott’s progression to AML. My mother’s MDS progressed to AML last April. It is difficult news to receive. My thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time.
Sheryl AnnMemberHi,
The best sweetner one can use and it has health benefits is called Stevia Plus. You can only purchase it in health food gocery stores such as Whole Foods. It is actually sweeter then sugar and all natural. It also promotes the healthy bacteria and provides fiber. I used it in my mothers protein drinks I would fix for her every morning

Sheryl AnnMemberDooreen,
When you get the C-diff under control, have your dad eat at least one container of yogurt a day. This helps prevent C-diff from occuring when taking antiboitics.
Hope he gets over this soon.Sheryl
Sheryl AnnMemberI am so happy for your good news about your father’s BMB results. I bet your father’s moral has been lifted. Best of luck with his future treatment. Prayers and good thoughts are with you and him.

Sheryl AnnMemberThank you everyone for your prayers and support. I am taking mom home to my house today from the hospital. I am very happy about this and at the same time nervous since I do not know what the coming days/weeks will bring. We made the decision last night to cancel our July 6th wedding since we are not in the wedding spirit and there are to many unknow’s with mom’s health.
I will keep everyone posted about mom’s health and the progress of the Zarnestra trial.
One thing that is important to know about the Zarnestra trial if you or a loved one is considering, have a complete heart exam since we have learned first hand, “weak or old heart wiring” and bad naseau can cause the heart to stop.Hugs to everone!

Sheryl AnnMemberHi Carrie,
My Mom was diagnoised with MDS over 2 years ago. I held off on my wedding plans b/c we did not think she would live very long given her diagnosis. She surprised us all by hanging on. We had a couple close calls. She seemed to be doing fine so we decided to plan our wedding. We are getting married this July and going to Hawaii for our honeymoon.
About 3 months ago her white blood count starting showing a elavated count but her hemo was not to concerned at the time. Last Friday, her white blood count had doubled! The doctor suspects she has progressed to Lukemia. We are having a BMB done next week to confirm this. Needless to say, I spent the weekend in tears and praying on how to lead my family through this difficult time.
I do totally understand what you are going through with planning a wedding and dealing with a parent that has MDS health issues. I did talk with my mom about her situation and she indicated no matter the outcome is–she wants me to go through with my wedding plans. I wish you the best of luck with everything.Sheryl
