Prayers for God’s Grace to comfort and sustain you.
Russ P.MemberNeil, Your grasp of the MDS situation is amazing.
Too bad the law doesn’t permit you to practice.
Blessings,
RussRuss P.MemberDacogen definitely lowers the WBCs – they gave me a shot of Neulasta which I didn’t tolerate well but some do OK with it. Perhaps pineapple could help those platelets. Best wishes,
RussRuss P.MemberPigduck,
Blessings and prayers to you and your father.
RussRuss P.MemberDear Ray,
God bless you and may He sustain you through your memories and His promise that you will see Susan again someday. She will be in a glorious body never to suffer the needle jabs and nausea from chemo. I also have been praying that my heavenly Father will call me home without suffering. Diagnosed in Jan. 07, I knew I didn’t have long but the Lord in His love and mercy has kept me feeling good for 6 months.
Praise Him for His goodness and love.
RussRuss P.MemberPerhaps you meant urinary tract infection. Sorry my slow brain didn’t think of that before I asked.
Russ P.MemberKristi, best wishes. BTW, what is a UTI?
Hope to hear from you.
RussRuss P.MemberPigduck, did you do a search of postings for “vidaza”? A prayer goes out for your dad.
God Bless,
RussRuss P.MemberJack, Did you have specific HDAC in mind. I believe they hold promise used with Dacogen or Vidaza.
RussRuss P.MemberTerri, don’t laugh but fresh pinapple raised my PLTs. Also noticed that they were higher when on prednisone for another problem.
Best regards,
RussRuss P.MemberKristi, would you please e-mail me at:
ripoole@yahoo.com I have much to share with you since I just finished my 6th round of vidaza +PXD-101 at the U. of Chicago. My case is different but want to compare treatments.
Best wishes for your dad,
RussRuss P.MemberLinda, I don’t know anything about the Hematologists in Benton Harbor but you are not far from the Michiana Hematology/Oncolgy Clinic in South Bend. I see Dr. Tabor there and he is a fine caring doctor. Unfortunately MDS is so different from case to case. Has your mom had a BMB? You may want to consult with a specialist in MDS at one of the teaching hospitals.
Best wishes,
RussRuss P.MemberPigduck,
The 5-azacitidine (Vidaza) will lower his counts but should recover in a couple of weeks. I think there is hope in using a hypomethylating drug like vidaza or dacogen along with a HDAC inhibitor. There seems to be more trials going this way.
Best of luck,
RussRuss P.MemberJanice,
I presume you saw my e-mail and reply from Dr. Goldberg. He’s got to be a great doc to bother helping others without compensation. Thanks for the lead.
RussRuss P.MemberKatie
Just said a prayer for your Dad, may he continue to improve.
