Dennis,
You have been my shining light, when I read your posts, I get hope. We have had a really rough time.My husband 69 was dx in Jan.06 with RARS, he had a BMB yesterday and he has had a fever all day and is hurting , is this common? We think that his disease has progressed some since nothing has helped. One step forward and two back.
Thank you for being on this forum. GloriaEngelMemberThank you so much for this very informative information. Can a 69 year old without siplings have a SCT , since we have been told my husband would not be a candidate for BMT. I am collecting all the information I can get since we are having a very difficult time. Thank you. Gloria

My husband dx 01/06 with RARS, he is on weekly Procrit no results. Tx every 5 weeks. Since he does not have 5q doctors will not give him Revlimid, where did you go and where did you get.
Gloriahusband dx 01/06 RARS. weekly Procrit, tx, every 5 weeks
EngelMemberPatti,
You are the most caring person I have read about-it is good to vent. My husband was dx on Jan.2006 and is on procrit and tx every 4 weeks. My Dad is 91 and healthy but lonley and my MIL is 86 and a constent complainer, my husband is her only child and she says daily, he did not get this from me, both these older people make my husband feel real bad since they are healthy and he is not. I try to be supportive and I check out everything, but I know that this illness will not go away and will only get worse. The procrit does not seem to help does anyone have another selution. Need all the help I can get.Husband(69) RARS 1/06 Procrut abd Tx every 4 weeks
EngelMemberEric.
My husband is 69 and was dx with RARS inJan. 06.Heis on Procrit once a week. He has had 3Tx and they seem to hold 5 weeks. His doctor said he is not a candidate for Revlimid, but I question this. Transfusions 2 units/5 weeks,EngelMemberHi Judy,
Thanks for the information, we had another transfusion today his count was way down again. The doctor Dr. Raymond seems to be very knowledgeable about MDS, I will try to get an appointment with Dr. List I have heard of him. My husband is having a hard time accepting this and wants to believe it will somehow go away.
Thanks, GloriaEngelMemberDear Judy,
Was very touched by reading your story, my husband has just been diagnosed with MDS and I have found very little help in Ft. Myers, Florida he has had two transfusions, they seem to last about 6 weeks and he receives Procrit which sofar has not helped at all. Any information would be helpful. Gloria -
