CarrieMemberNeil,
I’m sorry to hear about your mom’s passing. I hope it was comfortable and peaceful.
CarrieMemberNeil is really awesome! I gave him the highest number of stars!
CarrieMemberBarb,
I’m thinking about you. Take care,
CarrieCarrieMemberTerri,
Mom just recemtly told me that he takes supplements although I can’t remember which ones. I’ll check and see if there’s more that he can do.
Thanks,
CarrieCarrieMemberDad’s counts are okay lately. Very slowly climbing. He didn’t need platelets on Sunday.
He has his appointment with his oncologist today. They haven’t scheduled an appointment for his next Vidaza yet.
But, except for that infection and week long hospital stay, he’s doing okay.
Carrie
CarrieMemberGood luck! I’ll be thinking of you.

CarrieMemberQuick update:
Dad’s last two counts (Thursday and Sunday) showed some improvement. His lymphocytes are down a little and the good ones are coming up a little.
He’s getting his counts taken every couple of days. He meets with the onc next Tuesday and he’s already scheduled for the next Vidaza. I assume that they’re thinking that his counts will come up enough for the Vidaza.
Thank you for the support,
CarrieCarrieMemberBarbra,
I’m so sorry that someone made you feel like you couldn’t post here. If that were the case, they should tell me to go away too and I’ll say  . We ALL need each other here (patients and caregivers).
I’m so glad that you’re not giving up!! There has to be a cure somewhere and everyone who tries something new gives us a chance to find that cure.
Love,
CarrieCarrieMemberI’m sorry to hear the news. I hope that they find something effective to treat him with.
Love,
CarrieCarrieMemberNeil,
Thank you! I’ll pass the information on to my mom.
All,
He went for his blood counts yesterday (Sunday) and his WBC went up about .1. His red blood count went down a little. His platelets are back down to 20 so he got an infusion.
Mom didn’t say anything about the lymphocytes yesterday so either they weren’t on the report or they were back to normal.
Overall, he’s feeling good. He goes in for counts again on Tuesday. Mom said they’re just waiting for the counts to come back up now so that they can start back on the Vidaza.
Love,
CarrieCarrieMemberThanks.
Here’s more info:
Yesterday his white blood count was at .5 and he had 100% Lymphocytes. What does this mean?
Love,
CarrieCarrieMemberThanks for the replies! I talked to dad last night and he was a little out of breath just walking to get the phone But he’s feeling okay, I guess.
He had a clinic appointment this morning so I’ll probably hear back about his counts today. Let’s hope they’re going up!
Carrie
CarrieMemberMy dad also started in January. As you know, he ended up with a fever for over a week but he’s better. He’ll be starting back on the Vidaza (we think) but at a smaller dose. I’ll know more later.
His counts are still pretty low so they’re keeping an eye on him. He went home last night and he’ll be back to the hospital on Thursday to get his counts checked. Not sure when they’ll do the Vidaza again.
