    Hi again,

We’ve been racking our brain trying to remember how long she was on cyclosporin. Maybe 4 to 6 months?… maybe a little longer than that. She was on Prednisone at that time too.

    Hi Zoe,

Just want to wish you luck with your bmb. Hoping your doctor is right about the chromosome 7 deletion being a fluke. Please keep us posted.

    Best wishes,

    Jody

    Hi Arlene,

My mom had a very good response with Cyclosporin she was on it for a few months and it raised her platelets from a low of 11 (i think?..approx.) to, at one point over 500. Eventually they stabilized in a close to normal/normal range. She experienced high blood pressure though which is a possible side effect, but controlled it with meds. When Mom started Gleevec she had to ween herself off of the cyclosporin.

I just reread your post and noticed that your husband’s platelets are at 136 000. Hey, that’s terrific! Does he have any side effects? You must be so thrilled that he is now transfusion free.

Hope it continues working for many more years to come!!

    Take care,

    Jody

    Hi Lydia,

Here is a great link that helped me with my mom’s abnormal chromosomes.

    http://atlasgeneticsoncology.org/

When you click on the chromosome you’re interested in..(eg chromosome 5), you will be directed to a page where you can be more specific (ie. del 5q) and when you click on that you will get alot of information about etiology, treatment etc…

    Philadelphia chromosome is t(9:22) …mom had half – t(9:21)

Sorry to hear that Revlimid is no longer helping your mom, hope you hear some positive news soon.

    Take care,

    Jody
