    Bette:

Jim and I hope that you start feeling better real soon.

Jim had his last chemo on the 14th of this month. Now he has a cold and the doc. wants a chest x-ray and CBC. I sure hope that he isn’t getting worst.

We will pray for you and I will pray for Jim.

    Hi:

My husband was dio. with MDS in Jan-05. Now he had a BMB in May of this year. His count was 29 and the Oncologist said that he was in AML. She took another BMB last month and it seems that he is not in AML anymore.

Problem being that his WBC is 2.5 now and he has to start taking Neupogen for 5 days in a row. Don’t know what it will be from one blood test to another. He takes blood test every Monday.

    Hope this will help you.

    Loretta:

My husband has been on MDS since 05. He changed insurance in 06. He was on a HMO and now he is on Medicare plus AARP. His docotr suggested that he get out of the HMO, since it doesn’t pay much for Chemo and Oncologist.

Since he went on Medicare plus they are pay for his chemo and doc visit. He also has V.A. and Humana for prescription drugs. Humana cost 18.20 a month starting in 07.

I am having some medical problems myself. I need a knee replacement. I am hoping that I can wait until next year when I get out of this HMO. I hope to be on the same insurance as my husband and will try and get into the Core Institute to have it done.

    Hi Chuck:

Have fun sking and don’t let anything upset your holiday.

Jim had a BMB on the 31st of October. His Biospy turned out pretty good but the Oncologist had his start the Vidaza in November for 7 days. They will be his 6th treatment and I am sure she will want him to start again in December. Jim has not had any Tx yet and we hope it doesn’t come to that. The only thing that is happening now is that he is tired all the time and has a lot of aces and pains.

I am waiting to see how he will take another dose of Vidaza in December, so that I can have knee replacement in January of 07.

Pray for both of us because we both keed as many prayers as we can get.

    One day at a time.

Tomorrow is Jim’s last day of Vidaza for another 21 days and then he starts again in December I think. His Oncologist appointment is not until the 11th of December.

Jim will take a blood test tomorrrow and he should know how the Vidaza worked.

    Thanks for your concern.

    Hi again:

Well, Jim’s BMB was good but the doc said that most people that get off Vidaza even though the Biopsy is good will get worst if they don’t continue the Vidaza. His WBC was 2.8, Plat 198 and Hem 13.8.

He started back on Vidaza for the 6th time and he has it for 7 days and 26 days off. He sleeps a lot and so far that is all.

    Hi Guys:

Thank you so much for your Good Luck to Jim with Vidaza. Now it is where to put the injections.

I hope that it still works for him and that he lives a LONG life and a good one.

I really need him around for a long time. I have some medical problems but I am putting them off for awhile. I need a knee replacement and I am hoping that it can wait for a few month longer.

    Hi:

Jim’s blast in his BMB was good. I am not sure about the numbers though.

Either way, the Onc. wants him to go back to Vidaza again for 7 days. He starts today and we hope that all goes well.

Fran Wife of Jim, who is 74 now and we hope that he lives a long, long time.

    Hi California Mom,

Jim is 74 and he was diog. with MDS in 05. He has had 5 sessions of Vidaza and he just had a BMB last Thursday. He should know his Blast numbers on the 31st. We are hoping a praying that the blast go down from the last BMB that he had. They were 20 at that time.

He was getting Vidaza for 7 days and then rest for 3 weeks.

    Best of luck.

Hello to my wonderful friends in this Forum:

Jim had his BMB on Thursday, the 19th of October. He will see the Oncologist on the 31st of October for the results. I am holding my breath in hope for a good report.

We are taking one day at a time.

My daughters wanted us to come to there house for Thanksgiving but we can’t get tickets to fly there. First of all it cost 400.00 just for the flight and there is nothing open now. They are booked for all of the hoilidays. you would think it would be cheaper to go from Phoenix to Sacramento but it isn’t. Anyway we will have Thanksgiving dinner at a Resturant with some friends. No plans for Christmas.

I am having a knee problem. So, I am changing from a HMO to Medicare plus AARP. It will be costly but in the long run I hope to have a knee replacement next year if Jim is feeling OK.

Please Pray for us and hope that Jim’s BMB is good and we can relax for a few months at least.

    Thanks

    Fran

My husband Jim was diagnosis with MDS over a year ago but didn’t start Vidaza until 5 months ago. He just had a BMB again last Thursday and we won’t get the results of that until the 31st of this month. The last BMB he had was really bad. It took him into AML. So, we wait and see. Hope a Pray that this one is not as bad.

To my Friends and Support Group:

Just received your message and i want to say thanks for thinking of us.

Yes, I have 3 grown children and Jim has 2 grown children.

Sorry to say but they show no interest in are illness. So, we get NO surpport from any of them.

Jim finished his 5th round of Vidaza and he will be seeing the Onc. for a BMB on the 19th of this month.

We are both on Coumadin. I will be having Catarac surgery on the 2nd of September and I will see the doc that put in the new pacemaker on the 7th of September.

My grandchildren are grown and I don’t see much of them either. The oldest granddaughter is going to be 20. She is in college and lives in a dorm. I try to e-mail her but she doesn’t seem to answer. Jim has tried to reach his daughter but she doesn’t answer either.

We have very few friends that live near us and no one we can count on for support.

    Fran

PS: Jim turned 74 and I am 71.
