Your Father was being spared the long journey it seems, your right, it’s such a terrible dease, not just physicaly, but the emotional toll it takes on caregivers as well as the person aflicted

    Carie,
My heart is acheing for you and your family, sounds like the hospice is in a serene and beautiful location, that’s why my Joe moved us from a city to a house by the lake so he could pass in a beautiful, peaceful atmosphere, please take to heart in this sad time that your dad will no longer be riding the roller coaster from hell,
I will pray for you and your family

    Marie,
That’s a blessing ! finding out that your son was ill after experiencing your husbands illness was at the very least uncomprehensible (my opinion ofcourse) I’m soooo happy for him and you and your whole family.
I will pray for continued remission smile

    Terri,
It’s really a GREAT thing that it’s been two yrs. since Bob’s dx. I remember when you first joined our forum family, so scared and confused but still clear headed enough to gain insight and knowledge into how the roller coaster works…and “you did it girl” !!! you’ve made informed choices and put your knowledge to work…look how far you and Bob have come, yes, your still fighting the fight, but your able to stay a few steps ahead with the help of your Dr.’s
sounds like a celebration is in order !
    P.S.
thank you for helping us by sharing your knowledge and experiences, your very much appriciated smile

    Marie,
Hi hun, I’am sooo happy to hear from you ! I believe that alot of my firsts have passed, when Oct. 24th. rolls by it will be time for me to complete the year by changing my answering service outgoing message (it’s getting pretty worn out)it’s alway’s had Joe’s voice on it , for years in fact, it’s going to be very different getting through the holidays but I think I will be better able to cope, I’ve even started to slowly listen to our county music again and lil things like that. that’s great about the grandkids, I bet they have been very good for you ! and how is your son doing ? can you let us all know how he is ?

    Patti,
Joe’s counts were nil, wbc 0.5 and hgb 7.2 and plts 10 he was given tx. but his counts didn’t improve and he was having tx. weekly, He felt pretty well for being so ill, his body compensated for all the deficits, ofcourse he was pale, and fatigued but was in NO pain…
I sent you a private message with the rest !

    Patti,
we were told that Joe, my fiance, was m.d.s RAEB at 14 % when he was dx. then within a year and a half he went to over 90 % blasts, he transfered into A.M.L and his WHITE count did NOT go up at all, it steadily dropped to 0.5 and stayed that way from dx. on, and we were also told that neuprogen would increase the bad cells as well as the good ones, but it didn’t change any of his counts in any direction.
