So happy to hear from you and that things seem to be going well. Keep us posted
TerriMemberThats the way to hang in there Alexa, We all get those dark moods, I am glad yours passed and you are ready for battle.
TerriMemberSarah, I am sorry your Dad had such bad results from the drug. MY husband is on his third round of the second go of the drug and Through all of the six months last time and these three his counts have been stable. He did have some swelling last time in his feet but It went away.
This disease scares me and so does the new drugs but I have to pray that Bob will remain as well as he is on it.My Prayers are with you and your family.
TerriMemberAgain John, Thanks for the support, As you know we are using both approaches the conventional as well as the advice of our nutritionist. I think from Prior Post Tah is just not using any treatment conventional or alternative. I feel my husband is too young just to wait for the disease to take him.
TerriMemberJohn, I too am sorry for your loss, even through this time you are giving us all some advice
Take care
TerriMemberSad, I pray your dad is without pain. It scares me, Your dad is the same age as my husband Bob.
This disease has so many ups and downs. So many things I do not understand like the fact that your dads counts seem ok except for the Wbc’s.
Bob had Blast (Leukemic cells so they say) In his blood as well, and elevated WBC and that is why they put him on the vidaza.TerriMemberKate, Hope George comes home soon and is feeling better. I remember last year it was hard being at the hospital so much and worse watching a love one there. We have been lucky that it seems so far treatments etc are working. I get so scared though not knowing if waking up one day things will turn. I pray not.
Thinking of you and George a lot and Yes enjoying the New babyTerriMemberEve, Glad that the doc was able to answer your concerns and let you relax a little. This disease is so scary, so many ups and downs.
Keep us posted on how he is doing. Hope his counts get back to a normal flow.TerriMemberHi Drew, My husband is 59, dx in August 03, they do not think he is a candidate for a BMT, No siblings and I guess at his age they do not want to risk an Unrelated donor. He is on Vidaza.
This is the second time he is taking, Last time 6 months of it, He stabalized and his Blast returned to normal. We had 7 months and the blast did return, He is on the Vidaza again. Counts are holding still the hgb has been 11.7 for the past two weeks, RBC normal, Wbc just a little high at 13.9 and his plts are now up to 77 they were down in the 40s so I am hoping that his counts will start doing better.
Every one reacts differently, We do use a nutritionist as well for diet, vitamins and supplements.
I wish your Mom well with the treatment.TerriMemberThere are no words to express my sadness for you. I do hope your dad is not suffering.
Continued prayers to allTerriMemberApril, You have family here and we are all with you. And Hope Your Mominlaw is not suffering.
Continued prayersTerriMemberSorry Frank have not heard of it.
TerriMemberEve, Hope your dad is getting Better. Not sure of the Toxic grn. Does the doctor take calls to answer your questions, Our Local Hemotologist is great as far as that I usually get an answer shortly after my phone in.
Continued prayersTerriMemberEve, Are they looking at blood smears when they do the CBC is the Hemotologist looking for abnormal cells??? Bob starts Vidaza again tomorrow they will run the CBC and the BMP which checks his Creatinine (Kidneys) and I think the Doc is ordering His Liver levels as well. But They never tell us about Blast in the blood with the reg cbc only when we see the Doc who looks at the slides.
I hope your dad wbc come back to normTerriMemberAnd so I can’t spell sorry Kate, I got your screen name wrong
