    Cathy,

Thanks for the Happy Birthday message for my new birthday. Yes the 19th is it. I had my l year check up with BMB, labs, PFT’s yesterday. My Dr. feels pretty confident that the BMB will come back good as well. I developed a cold over the weekend. But feel it is getting better. I am back at work for 16 hrs a week. And that is going well, tho I have taken a couple days off so my health wouldn’t get worse. I told myself if I ever could work again that I wouldn’t let the job dictate my health. I also found out the name of my donor and will contact her very soon. Don’t know what I will ever say to her, she lives in Nebraska and wants to meet me as I do her. I feel so very blessed to have this life, I pray for those that are in the middle and starting this struggle. I pray that Troy will soon find this relief too. Thank you again for the Birthday wishes. It even made me smile more to read it.
    God Bless,
    Marsha

LOL!! Too funny! Really laughter is good for the soul. Let’s keep those faces smiling even in despair there is humor. At least for me there was.

I tried too and got the same thing as Terri, I believe that when this disease can be caught early enough better meds/treatment can be much better. Marsha

Your mom was such a help to me when I was first DX’d. So if there is not much I can do physically for her and Chris and your family, I will pray they get the Sepsis under control, and head for transplant. My prayers are with you will move Chris to the top of my list, I do that when I feel someone needs xtra prayers. God Bless you, hugs to your mom, and I wish only good things for Chris Marsha

    Chewgie,

Does your Cancer Clinic have a social worker, that could get some insight into what your father is feeling right now. I had one at the clinic and also at the hospital for my BMT, this was standard procedure for the clinic and hospital I have. They have both helped me and my family with not only support but Ins. questions and setting up procedures at home when I had to have IV treatments etc. at home. They often times just came into the exam room to talk before I saw the doctor. It may be hard for your father at first to open up, but S W have ways of getting you to voice your concerns without you really knowing it. My thoughts and prayers are with your father, and you and the rest of your family. I hope you are given the answers to strengthen you. God Bless,

    Marsha

    Jody,

It has always been about 1 week, longer for cytogenics, maybe that is what they are waiting for but if I were you I would call your mom’s doctor in 1 1/2 wks cause 6 is way to long to find out results. Course, they may call you too.
Good luck and God Bless, Marsha

    JimBob,

Congratulations on your health, I am almost 11 months now. l year Nov 19th. I was so scared at first then as more and more information came to me I started to focus on getting well instead of statistics. When lst Dx the oncologist said 2 years and that other than BMT/SCT as the only cure. I look back and notice in just that short year new things have developed and new treatments have been added. Maybe this will be an easy disease to treat one day. I wish you well, and thanks for the encouragement you gave to me in the beginning also. God Bless, Marsha

    Barb,
I am 10 months post BMT for CMML-1 I believe that the “1” means the lowest, but not 100% sure, I don’t know how many numbers they use but I believe it low, intermediate and High or severe. If I’m right then he is on the low end of the spectrum. I just can’t remember what my doctor said. Hope this helps.

    Hi everyone,

I want you all to know that I am doing really well, I have plans to go back to work on Monday part time. Hope it works!!. I have been gone for a few days to visit my mother in northern Wisconsin before I go back. My son is being discharged from the Army next month and my l year blood b’day is Nov 19th. I still have some mild GVH in skin, mouth and now the eyes but I am coping so much better. Still have a problem gaining weight but as long as I eat they aren’t too worried about that. Sometimes I read the boards but don’t post. Jack thanks for the email, I remember talking about CMML with you when I first was DX. Hope we all continue to do well, and I pray for our new members to beable to one day be where I am. Thanks for worring about me. God Bless, Marsha

    Dave and Don,

Yes Don I back you up all the way!!! Dave I learned the hard way when I didn’t call the doctor and it spiraled out of control. I’m doing better but still struggling with after effects. And I had to start all over with meds so I am just now tapering those too. So even if you think it is trival call anyway. My BMT team told me that they are there to “help me”

    God Bless, Marsha
